Founder and Director of Gamepoint Basketball. Coach Mercado's coaching resume
includes being an assistant coach at Bethany College, an NAIA school in central Kansas,
for the 2003-2004 basketball season. A varsity assistant at Oceanside High School
(2004-2005), JV coach and varsity assistant at Vista High School (2005-2006) and Varsity
head coach at Vista High School (2006-Present). This past season Coach Mercado's
varsity team went 23-7 and finished with a #5 ranking in San Diego County according to
Maxpreps.com
Coach Mercado's basketball background includes being a three year varsity starter at
Vista High School from 1995-1998. Coach Mercado played for Coach Watson at Palomar
College from 1999-2001 and later went on to receive a scholarship to Bethany College in
central Kansas. At Bethany College, Coach Mercado was part of a team that went 26-10
and finished with a #2 ranking in NAIA Division II.
Coach Mercado's academic background includes a diploma from Vista High School
(1998), an Associates Degree from Palomar College (2001) and a Bachelors Degree in
Political Science from Bethany College.

Coach Williams is in his 4th year in helping out with the Gamepoint program. Coach
Williams has also served as the JV head coach and varsity assistant at Vista High School
for the past three years. Coach Williams will serve as the head coach for the Gamepoint
14u White Team this spring and summer.

Coach Morris is in his 2nd year in helping out with the Gamepoint program. Coach
Morris will be coaching the Gamepoint Unsigned Senior team this spring and summer.
Coach Morris served as the JV head coach this past year at Rancho Buena Vista High
School. His coaching resume also includes being a varsity assistant at Rancho Buena
Vista High School and an assistant at Palomar College.
Coach Morris played high school basketball in the state of Texas at George Ball High
School in the Galveston area. Coach Morris later went on to receive a scholarship to
Prairie View A & M, a Division I school in the SWAC Conference. Coach Morris was
named freshman of the year in the SWAC for the 1985-1986 season.

Coach Alston is in his third year of helping out with the Gamepoint program. Coach
Alston's coaching resume includes being an assistant for the Gamepoint 14u and 15u
teams, as well as coach the 16u last season. Coach Alston will also serve as a JV assistant
coach for the 2009-2010 season at Rancho Buena Vista High School.
